TO COLOR OR NOT TO COLOR

Having your hairstyle enhanced with color for gray coverage or just to enhance or brighten your natural hair color can be a beautiful change to your appearance and a lift to your spirit.
However, there are so many factors to consider when having your hair colored.
First, it is highly recommended that you have your color professionally done. It is also recommended that you have a color Consultation with a colorist or a stylist that knows color well.
Your colorist or stylist should be able to discuss with you different shades of color for your complexion, color placement technique according to your hairstyle.
They should also examine the health of your hair before deciding on what type of color process would be suitable for your hair type, lifestyle and maintenance regimen.
Color treated hair requires an extra effort on your part to keep your hair healthy and your color vibrant. Regular scheduled salon visits are highly recommended after your initial color service.

KEY FACTS ABOUT COLOR

COLOR RINSES or SEMI-PERMANENT hair color - are usually temporary deposit-only color that just adds color to the cuticle (top) layer of the hair. great for gray coverage and adding dimension and shine to hairstyle.

Rinses do not PERMANENTLY change your natural hair color. This type of color is suitable for all hair textures chemically processed or natural and can be done on the same day as a relaxer service. Hair will return back to its natural color after 2-4 shampoos.
* Darker color rinses tend to stain hair over time and can be a factor in the end result if you decide to have your hair permanently colored.
DEMI-PERMANENT hair color- contains a small percentage of chemical that allows a minor lift in natural color and deposits tone to create change in natural color up to a shade lighter than original color. It is ideal for longer lasting gray coverage or infusing warm, cool, or vibrant tones into hair creating exciting dimension to any haircut or hairstyle. This choice of color service last up to 6 to 8 shampoos. This process can be done on hair that is chemically relaxed or natural. Health of hair and desired look should be a factor in determining if this service is right for you.

PERMANENT COLOR- contains chemicals that change the tone/color of your natural hair.
Permanent color can be a great way to enhance your overall look. A properly selected shade of hair color and proper color placement can do wonders to create a complete overhaul in your appearance.
While this service can be great, it can also have some disadvantages. Improper coloring products as well as improper color application and also wrong color selection can make this service a DISASTER! Also it is never recommended that you purchase a box color and apply to your hair by yourself. It may have OK results...but it can also be trial and error and can be troublesome to correct if you get the wrong shade.
The Bottom line leave coloring your Hair to the PROS!
